🇺🇸 The Betrayal of Representation: When Rome Commands Sicily

April 2, 2025April 2, 2025 By admin

In a healthy political system, every people should have the right to be represented by someone who knows their land, its wounds, and its dreams. But in Italy — especially in Sicily — there’s a corrupt and strategic mechanism that allows parties to fill parliamentary seats with outsiders, “parachuted” in without any connection to the territory.

Shameful examples? Here are two — but they speak for a much wider betrayal.

🟥 Carlo Calenda: The Roman Senator from a Sicilian District

Born and raised in Rome, Carlo Calenda was elected in 2022 in Sicily’s multi-member constituency. He has never lived in Sicily, never served it, never known it. And yet he sits in Parliament pretending to represent Sicilians.

Right after his election, Calenda attacked the Special Statute of Sicily, calling it a “disaster” and accusing Sicily of being a burden on Italy. He spoke of “feudalism” and inefficiency — yet he is the very product of a feudal system, where political barons decide who gets elected, with zero regard for the people’s will.

🟥 Marta Fascina: The “White Widow” with No Roots

Even more outrageous is the case of Marta Fascina, Berlusconi’s companion. Born in Calabria, raised in Campania, never lived in Sicily — elected in the single-member constituency of Marsala.

She never campaigned there. She didn’t meet the people. Her only merit? Carrying a name and a party logo. When asked about Sicily, she said she remembered it from vacations as a child. Is that enough to represent an entire island?

Of course not. It’s yet another insult to a land treated like a colony.

🟥 Other Shameful Parachute Candidates

  • Stefania Craxi, daughter of Bettino Craxi, imposed in Sicily without ever having served the island. A legacy of mafioso-style political dynasties.
  • Vittorio Sgarbi, TV personality who jumps from one constituency to another like a circus act. Always a candidate, never rooted anywhere.

🔥 A Criminal Political System

This is made possible by the infamous “Rosatellum”, an electoral law that allows parties to:

  • Run whoever they want, wherever they want
  • Put the same name on multiple lists
  • Elect people who know nothing about the territory
  • Reward loyalty and TV visibility over merit and community ties

In Sicily, people vote, but Rome or Milan decides. The public is reduced to extras. Democracy becomes theater.

These people, once elected, do absolutely nothing for Sicily. You never see them. They don’t listen. They don’t fight for us. They use the island to secure a seat — and vanish. These are people who know nothing about Sicily, who never live it, and once in power don’t do a damn thing.

This is not democracy — it’s a criminal political system that tramples the people’s will.

đźš« Enough Puppets. Enough Parachutes.

This is a form of political colonialism. It humiliates the dignity of Sicilians, silences merit, and mocks the centuries-long history of this people.

We are represented by those who don’t know us, who don’t listen to us, and who often despise us. Sicily is seen only as a steppingstone — a place to conquer and discard.

🟡🔴 For a Real Parliament, For a Free Sicily

It’s time for Sicilians to free themselves from these puppets of national power. No people with 3,000 years of civilization should be represented by those who see them only as tools.

Sicily needs Sicilian representatives, elected by the people and rooted in this land.

And if Italy doesn’t allow it — then it’s time for Sicilians to reclaim their voice. Even through independence.

⚫ This is not democracy. This is a criminal political system. We don’t even know if they really get votes from the people.
âš« Sicily is not a colony. Sicily is a nation.
